Hiatus recommendations!

Hiatus recommendations!

Hey all, well it's about that time (and what a sad, but exciting time it is!). Anton is nearly caught up with the LOST world and we're trying to nail down some concrete plans for the hiatus.

So far we've discussed the following:
- A handful of episodes where we each pic a theory that we like most and discuss those with eachother.

- In-depth character studies of each of the characters on the show. My apprehension with this idea is that we've discussed most of the characters a decent amount throughout the course of the series. However, there might be some advantage to having self-contained episodes where we really dive into each character's story as we try and make sense of the overall story.

- We will be doing some Comic-CON coverage, not sure how much and not sure to what extent. We'll both be there (so far) but I'm not sure if we'll do on-location audio, recap episodes or both. More on that later.

- I've wondered about the possability of doing a sort of review of previous seasons in light of the information gained from the season 5 finale. I'd love to try and make sense of previous events in light of some of the newer information :)

- I cannot tell how interested Anton is in this idea yet, but I'm wondering about having him experience some of the outside materials that we LOST fans had at our disposal during the original airings of the show. For example, The Official LOST Podcast, the various Comic-CON teaser videos/panels and other official information that did so much to add to our understanding of the underlying mythology. I'm not sure if this is necessary or even interesting (to Anton) but I've wondered.

Any things you'd like to hear over the hiatus?

Maybe commentaries on yours and Anton's favorite episodes? I realize that it's a lot like an episode recap, but I still think it would be fun to watch an episode and be listening to you guys talking about it at the same time.

Well, this is the "Lost Mystery Podcast," so it seems fitting that the mysteries of Lost would play a central role. I suggest you establish a forum area where you and others can post threads on the continuing Mysteries of Lost. For example, "The Whispers," or "The Smoke Monster," or "The Blast Door Map." You get the idea. Then we can add replies to these threads about our own insights and perspectives on these mysteries, as well as suggest different sources of research you guys might look into, to help shed light on them.

Many mysteries probably wouldn't take up a whole episode, so perhaps you could do a few at a time. OR you could have other kinds of segments in an episode in addition to the mysteries.

Often the various Lost podcasts out there cross-promote each other. Something you could do each week, is feature a different resource for enjoying Lost. Be that the various other podcasts, or some of the really excellent forums where people gather. You could have guests that describe what their podcast, forum, etc. is all about.

Another segment could be an update on the progress of Anton's family in their own viewing of Lost. Perhaps you could incorporate an "Ask Anton's Family" portion, where listeners may post questions and Anton can poll his family for their answers.

Something else I've wondered about, is to take a look at Lost in actual chronological order, beginning way back in the days of the statue, and gradually progressing all the way up to present day.

Well, that's all the ideas I have for now! Looking forward to hearing you guys throughout the hiatus!

I like this idea! I know that LOSTPedia has a complete listing of the unsolved mysteries of the show, it might be interesting to discuss those and see what we DO know based on the information we've been given so far.
